Duolingo for iPhone Duo

Duolingo has no announced version for iPhone Duo. As of October 6, 2026, the current App Store release is version 7.142.0, from September 28, and its release notes don’t mention the Duo. Duolingo has made no announcement that we have found.

Duolingo’s mascot is an owl called Duo, and its social team noticed the phone’s name. “It’s called the iPhone WHAT???” the company posted on X on the day of the announcement, before settling on: “Now there’s extra screen space for you to do your lesson.” That is a joke, not a product announcement, and Duolingo has not said its app will get a Duo layout. (The “Duo” in its release notes is the owl.)

Duolingo will still open on iPhone Duo, like every app on the App Store. Closed, it looks as it does on any iPhone. Open, it won’t reach the edges of the inner display until Duolingo rebuilds it with Apple’s iOS 27.1 tools, which Apple only cleared for App Store submissions on October 5.
