Adapted for the fold

  • Closed · Outer display

    A pencil in your pocket

Closed, you keep score one-handed, hole by hole: the hole's par, yardage and handicap, each player's score so far, and the number keys in two rows of six, all on the cover with nothing to scroll.

  • Open · Inner display

    The card writes itself

Open, the round spreads across two pages with a stitched leather spine in the hinge: the club's card on the left page, pencilled in as you tap, and the hole, players and keys on the right, with nothing you tap in the crease. The finished card opens out across both pages, front nine on the left and back nine on the right.

  • Book · Partly folded

    Stand it on the cart

Half-folded like a small laptop, the nine you're playing faces you on the upright half and the keys wait on the half lying flat.

  • Split View · Two apps

    One column beside another app

Sharing the screen with another app, Short Pencil goes back to its one-column phone layout.

About Short Pencil: Golf Scorecard

Short Pencil is a golf scorecard for people who’d rather play the course than look at a phone: no GPS, no shot tracking, no ads and no account. Pick a course and its card fills in, tap one number a hole, then sign the card with your finger and keep it, emailed to you if you like. Scores are drawn in pencil on a club-style card, with birdies circled and bogeys boxed.

DM Solutions and Development sent it to FoldHunt built for iPhone Duo, where it folds like a paper scorecard. Closed, it’s a one-handed pencil on the cover; open, the card writes itself on the left page beside the keys, with a leather spine on the hinge, and unfolding mid-round swings the card open from the spine. Stood half-folded on the cart, the nine you’re playing faces you above the fold. It’s on Google Play now and coming soon to the App Store.

Evidence reviews

What we checked, when, and what the evidence establishes. Each record preserves the support label at that check.

  1. · Developer media reviewed

    Developer claimed · iphone-duo

Watched the developer's Instagram reel frame by frame and checked the iPhone Duo images on the app's site: the scorecard on the cover, the card beside the keys when open, the phone half-folded on a cart, and the finished card across both pages.

Poses shown: Closed, Open, Book. These are observations of the evidence, not a test of every interaction.

App version: Not recorded in this evidence.

The reel is a promotional render with the app's screens on a rendered iPhone Duo, and the site's images carry no app or Xcode version. The iOS app is not on the App Store yet, so no build was tested.
