Make a grilled cheese, then close the phone to shut the toaster lid
Does Toastie work on iPhone Duo?
Yes, from launch day, say its developers: fold the Duo shut to close the toaster lid, peek with it partly open, and unfold it to serve. The Duo mode arrives October 23, 2026.
- App Store confirmedCyprian Brytan and Tomasz Szykulski, the developers, in a submission to FoldHunt on October 20, 2026. The App Store description has a "Made for iPhone Duo" section: fold it shut to close the lid, and open it to see how the sandwich is doing. The press page (toastie.fun) says the iPhone Duo mode arrives on October 23, 2026, the day the phone ships, and that its Duo concept film is rendered from simulator footage. Tom Szykulski showed the Duo version in a post on X. The game came out on October 9, 2026; the latest version is 1.1.1 (released October 12, 2026).

The cover is the lid
Once the sandwich is on the grill, fold the phone shut to close the lid and start toasting. The cover becomes the toaster's lid, with its indicator lamp.

Peek inside
Open the phone partway to peek at the sandwich. Timing when you open it is part of the game.

Build it, then check on it
Open, you butter the bread and add cheese and fillings from the order card, then unfold the phone at the right moment to check the result and serve it, for a score card by the plate.
About Toastie
Toastie is a toaster game: butter the bread, add cheese and fillings, close the lid and it toasts in real time. Open it too early and the cheese has not melted, too late and it burns. You have 15 seconds to build each order, every sandwich gets a score card for its recipe, plating, toasting and prep time, and four stars unlock the next of ten recipes. It’s a one-time purchase for iPhone and iPad, with no ads, tracking or in-app purchases, made by Cyprian Brytan and Tomasz Szykulski in Warsaw.
On the iPhone Duo, the phone itself is the toaster. Fold it shut to close the lid, and the cover becomes the lid with its indicator lamp; open it a little to peek at the sandwich, or all the way to serve it. The Duo mode arrives on October 23, 2026, the day the phone ships.
